Team Troon on Tour: Aloha Swing, Its HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship Week at Yas Links

Team Troon: Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland, Matt Fitzpatrick, Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar, Alex Noren, Cheyenne Woods, Colin Montgomerie

Sony Open In Hawaii

The PGATOUR segment of the “Aloha Swing” wrapped up last night with the final round of the Sony Open in Hawaii. Matt Kuchar was the Team Troon representative in the field and he did “represent” well. He put together four solid rounds to finish within the Top 10 at -17, six shy of the Henley/Matsuyama playoff (that was captured by Matsuyama in epic fashion on the first playoff hole). Congrats Matt on a solid week!

Sentry Tournament of Champions

The prior leg of the “Aloha Swing” was the Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua’s famed Plantation Course (ranked #1 in Hawaii by Golfweek). Congrats is in order for the entire Kapalua team on a great event that showed well on the global NBC/Golf Channel broadcast. The Ops, Retail and other teams did amazing work  (leading up to the event and the week of). The agronomy team worked tirelessly and presented a golf course that both looked stunning and played great. Conditions were perfect for scoring and Team Troon member Justin Thomas took advantage of the great conditions when he broke the Plantation Course record with a 61 on Saturday (which was matched by Rahm and Jones thereafter). Thomas would earn a solid Top 5 position at  -25 under. Congrats JT and Congrats to the Kapalua/Troon Ohana!

The Golf Channel broadcast team had many great things to say about Kapalua and Troon. A cool segment had Steve Sands and Mark Rolfing both sharing some really kind words about the course and Troon. Thank you Steve, Mark and Golf Channel!  Watch/listen to the segment:

It’s going to be an exciting week. Good luck to our team at Yas Link Abu Dhabi…and Go Team Troon!
